Ok I can handle just about all of this. I'm actually almost excited about this movie. I really really did enjoy the third film (I realize i'm like 1 in 4), but I have to know, why no Gilbert? I don't recall him dying in the books (am I wrong here?). So why no Gilbert? Does anyone know who the characters are? I know Ms. Hammond, and Diana's dad, abut Dominic from the thrid film, but who are the others? Does anybody know? And again I ask why no Gilbert? And does this sour anyones feelings about the film other than mine?
Yeah, I do have to admit that it does sour my feelings for the new film that Gilbert isn't there. As far as I know, he didn't die in the books. I don't really know any of the characters either. Oh yeah...if you do figure out why Gilbert isn't in this film (man...that irks me), please let me know?
I have no idea what this movie is about, but Gilbert does not die in the books, and of course, Dominic doesn't exist, just like most of the characters from Anne 3 don't. What confuses me is that Walter Blythe, Anne and Gilbert's son, is also in this movie, but it doesn't mention any of the other children. Really, how could you NOT have Gilbert in an Anne movie??
From what I gather about the film, its essentially two stories. We're going to see Anne in her older years with her children (Dominic hopefully being one of quite a few), and the other story (THE MAIN STORY) is what Anne's life was like before Green Gables. It's very likely the reason for why we'll be seeing the Avonlea Alum. I know Gilbert doesn't die in the books, but it is safe to say at some point he dies...Don't we all, but we don't need to see or know that in the movie. It's just a bit ridiculous to me that Gilbert's not in the film. Kinda ruins it a bit.
I think the whole thing is about money. Sullivan Ent has not made a movie in years- and they have to find something to make some capital. I was irate with them for not completing Wind at My Back- we had the 1st two and then kapoot- they stopped and when I asked their customer service they gave me the run around - then finally admitted that Disney and Sullivan Ent have some kind of Rights issues and there will be no more WAMB DVD's until further notice. I'm sure this will be a good movie, or set or movies- but to exclude Gilbert is moronic and to not have Megan Follows as older Anne is dumb too.
