They freakin' killed off Gilbert Blythe?? Are they CRAZY? I started watching this right in the middle and I kept wondering "where the hell is Gilbert?" and then I find out that he was killed in WWII? I was so disappointed. Anne of Green Gables fans have put up with a lot of Kevin Sullivan's "reworkings" but they've crossed the line. It's like those crazy writers went off on a tangeant.

"First we kill off her childhood true love, then we have her looking for a long lost family, and just to really piss off the fans we get crummy actors for the parts"

I'm not going to buy this version of Anne of Green Gables and, as of now, am wiping it from my memory--

just what I thought. killing of Gil? totally heartbreaking, made me sob just reading this. never going to watch it.

I know I made a mistake by watching it. Dear God it was worse that I could have imagined. They just didn't kill my childhood, the killed it and then raped it. Brought it to life just so they could kill it again and then raped it one more time.

So so so true.

It bothers me that *anyone* might consider this movie part of the Anne series. The third one is hard enough to swallow with all that New York stuff, espionage in England, war stuff but we put up with a lot of crap to see Anne and Gil finally together... then they make this fourth Anne movie.

When I met Megan Follows last year, I meant to ask her why she wasn't in the last Anne movie, hoping that it was because they completely messed with the story, but somehow my parents commandeered the conversation with her and I forgot to ask!
