The Anne and Avonlea series are so expensive it's unreal. My mom and grandmom love both series as do I but the prices are unbelievable for both sets. And not just that - Anne 3 and 4 completely sucked, I'm sorry. He's making a lot of money off it too. I mean if they were awesome movies I don't think people would be complaining about the prices as much but really? He kills Gilbert off.
shareI just finished the 3rd Anne movie, I didn't like it as much as I loved the first 2 movies, because of all the continuing errors. I wish the scenes with Gil/Anne in Avenloa could've been the biggest part of the movie, it's what fans of Anne love the most, who wants to see a melodramatic war drama (tho it had some exciting moments and I liked Fred and Anne taking care of Dom and it doesn't bother me that Megan and Jonathan look "old" like other ppl complained, its been 13 years and I thought they look just fine, tho it was hard to believe Anne/Gil were still engaged, god I hated some of the script changes).
Anyway, I just found out about this movie and started hating it as soon as I saw the cover of the movie. The Anne actress(es) look terrible and I'm not sure if I wanna invest my time in destroying some of my Anne memories. I guess none of the original actors are in this, is there anyone who'd recommend it?
I'm planning to watch all of Road to Avonlea (I've only seen a few seasons an missed a lot of episodes when they were showing reruns on tv a few years ago). I'm 19 now and I still love Anne as much as I did 10 years ago, I guess Road to Avonlea is much better than this 4th installment. I'm also excited to see Sarah Polley, one of my fav actresses, as a kid=)
