I wonder when Hollywood will return to ...
making actual movies instead of lessons....
shareWhen did Hollywood not make lessons? There is some kind of lesson in every movie, some are weak, some are hidden well, but they are still there.
shareYeah, sure, of course, but maybe I just don't like getting incessant and blatant "woke" lessons shoved up my a** for the last two years... I want to be entertained, because that's what's Hollywood is all about, in case somebody forgot. If there's something to be learned, good, why not, but Hollywood is not PBS or the Learning Channel.
I really wonder how all these "black awareness" movies did at the box office (if there was any, that is)!
Many do find these entertaining. And from the looks of it, you are exactly who needs to learn these lessons....
shareWell, if the lesson is never learned.........
If nothing else, it does point how we as a country continue to struggle with such a basic idea.
There doesn't seem to be an end to it.The majority of actors and writers today are more interested in conveying their social political opinions instead of just telling stories for entertainments sake.
shareI'd be curious as to what you thought the "lesson" in this film was. There were no overt moral instructions here at all. This was a film about the dynamics of four men, each coming to terms with the time in which they lived in their own, disparate, ways. There was no universal consensus reached. It was a thought experiment. A film of ideas, some of them in opposition to each other.
I'm wondering if you saw the film.
