i thought this series would portray his life well. When i watched this series i've noticed how come the scenery doesn't look like its from the 60's or 70's? New Applebee's Restaurant building and Chipotle in one of the scenerys? 90's and 2000's cars passing by? come on, this is just ridiculous. Bruce Lee lived in the 70's, not 2000's. What do you think guys?
Yes, trying to recreate the different eras the show takes place in seemed to only matter to the principle cast's costumes, I mean in the first episode I saw an extra wearing a 2008 West Ham football shirt and thought "That can't be good"
Don't forget the river dancers, people with tattoos and a plethora of modern fashions. Might as well have had Bruce Lee piloting the space shuttle to the moon.
Things like costumes could have EASILY been fixed. Background performers could have been told to wear clothes without logos or things that look around the time period they were filming for. ACTORS wearing modern clothes is at COMPLETE FAULT to the wardrobe dept. for not noticing that and doing their job. I think in once scene there were even people with digital cameras. Could that have been avoided? YES, very easily. Budget has nothing to do with details like that.
Bruce Lee at most times wore the correct clothes for the period, and even wore the same kind of outfits he actually wore in real life (the star and wing tank top, the V open cut 70s top).
The modern cars and stuff kill it even more though. They would have been better off trying to show as less of it as possible, but they didn't so it shows badly. The LED buses didn't help either. Since this was a technically a period piece, they didn't do much to try to and show it.
I just put this on my Netflix list. I don't expect an accurate movie on Bruce Lee's life. After all it's called "The LEGEND Of Bruce Lee". However, I'm not sure I want to watch this anymore now that I'm hearing how they got such basic stuff like period clothing wrong. Digital cameras too, WTF?
its a joke, obviously made by amateur film makers, maybe even students. no continuity person on set? no one checking the dailys and seeing the MISTAKES!!!
no story boards? no camera man eyeing up the shot to make sure APPLEBYS IS NOT IN FRAME!!!! take some pride in your work guys!

No, this was professional production, done in China. The standards in China are not that high, and this was obviously not in the best budget. Linda and Shannon Lee were involved with the series too.
