The quotes from the bible, that matched up to vampire mythology - are they in the bible?
I can’t specifically remember which, as it was a lot to take in.
But I remember parts where they were reading/quoting the bible and it was straight up vampire story stuff.
All the quotes seemed correct, but obviously taken out of context and interpreted incorrectly. The Catholic Church is very specific about how things are interpreted.

shareAs far as I could tell, the quotes were all indeed correct. Flanagan was playing with the idea that some angelic descriptions do seem applicable to our conceptualizations of what vampires are, and he kinda ran with that idea when creating this story.
But the other poster was correct ofc; he's taking license on how to interpret them.
The thing with the bible is that you can justify anything with it. I think part of the idea behind the show is this. It is pretty absurd that you could make it to fit a vampire story. It is a parody basically.
Then, kudos to the guy (Flanagan?) who did all the hermeneutics. He put a lot of effort in it.
That's exactly what I thought. I want to see more of Flanagan's stuff. I really like that attention to detail.
shareIn my opinion, no. But several costumers (aka cosplayers) have used that interpretation for masquerade presentations, and I know of at least one SF story (though I cannot recall the title or author at the moment) that did as well.
