Bad movie?

More like a basic movie no different from the other movies in its franchise.

I don't know what sets this one apart from the rest in the critics minds. Here is the plot

* The 18 year old main character goes to college and experiences the typical college atmosphere in films.

* He unknowingly absorbs an alien artifact into his body by touching it.

* He encounters the bad robots and they try to kill him and his girlfriend as he has information from the artifact they need.

* He ends up with the other characters in Egypt for a good and bad robot showdown where a weapon is hidden in the pyramids that puts humanity under threat.* Good robots win. He re-unites with his pretty girlfriend. The end.

There is nothing wrong with this movie. It's no more cheesy or terrible than the rest of the film's. I keep hearing "the plot is so bad". No it's not. The plot is basic, the plot allows travel to a foreign land which is exciting for the viewer. An intelligent film? No. A terrible film? Not by a long shot.

I love this movie. It was an awesome sequel, with more of everything that made the first one so watchable. Yes, the humor is a bit crass/overdone a little bit, but you can't expect The Godfather's script or depth from a blockbuster flick like this. The cast, action scenes, score / soundtrack, the plot and the new robots were all pretty good.

8/10 for me and will re-watch again.
