College Freshmen Not Allowed Cars?
Sam says his college doesn't allow freshmen to have a car. What the heck? Does any college do something that stupid?

shareYeah my school had/has that policy:

Still had a car though.

Wow. That's stupid. I take it that they don't give a reason for it.
And I always thought it was a lie that Sam gave to leave Bumblebee behind.
More importantly, does the college that Sam is attending actually prohibit freshmen from having cars?

The school I went to also didn't allow freshmen to have cars so it didn't seem odd when Sam told Bumblebee. I did feel bad for Bumblebee though since he was so excited to go.
You have to realize that parking spots physically take up space so if a college does not have enough real estate for parking garages or spots available then the graduate students, seniors, and juniors will obviously get preference.
Especially if you consider that many colleges encourage (some even require) freshmen to live on campus so they don't really need a car anyway compared to those that have to commute from an off campus apartment.
And even if they physically had space to build a parking garage then you have to consider if it's better to build one than another dorm/dining hall, ect. instead.
iFelt bad for Bumblebee too, the way he started playing the "Am so excited song" =)) too funny.

It's pretty standard. And for some of the reasons mentioned by others, primarily because of limited space.
He could get around it by keeping the car somewhere off campus, or having someone else apply for the parking permit.
