Is this movie really that bad?

This is the only film of the Transformers franchise that I haven't actually watched. I have seen bits and pieces of it on FX but that was it. I have only seen one and three once and they were in theaters.

I requested this movie at the library so that I won't worry about my money being wasted. I do remember seeing parts with Sam at the college and every girl there was a hot one. Not a single unattractive girl in sight. Same with Sam's mom talking about her own son's sexual experience.

All I need is one mic...

It's not among the worst movies ever made, but it's too mindless to justify the running time. By the time they get to the pyramids I'm usually pretty bored.

True, it IS overlong, but you could say that for a lot of CGI epics.

The script is paper-thin, with little plot and it doesn't really develop any of the characters. Since we already know them from the first film anyway, this sequel can basically be enjoyed as one huge fireworks show.

I had a couple of hours to kill, it was on TV and was curious to see if it was really as bad as I've heard. It was.

Absolutely ghastly. Terrible story telling, dull characters, cringe-inducing dialogue,a CGI w4nk-fest - added to the fact that Bay seems unable to hold a shot for longer than four seconds.

Utter, utter *beep*

I immediately purged my soul by rewatching Carpenter's The Thing to remind myself what a great sci-fi film looks.

You don't have to pay attention very closely to find that there's a reason for all the hot girls around the college written right into the film.

It's so bad, I think it threw up in its own mouth. How could Steven Spielberg put his name behind this heap o' crap!? I think you could put camera and a lump of terd in a blender and end up with better footage than this. While you're at it, do us all a favor. Grap the original reels of this movie, drop them in a massive blender and hit liquify!!

It's pretty bad, and I say this as an unabashed fan of Michael Bay and the first movie. The third one was pretty good too, but this one is just two and a half hours of mind-numbing stupidity. Even Bay acknowledges that Revenge of the Fallen sucked.
