Shia LaBeouf's Hand?

After they get to Egypt, Shia's hand is wrapped up for the rest of the movie. My question is, did he really injure it somehow?

When Jetfire transports them to Egypt you can see his hand burning, from that point on he has it wrapped up. In real life LaBeouf got it injured from a car accident he and Isabel Lucas were in, they had to write in something so LaBeouf could still work and the audience wouldn't get too confused.

I have an unbelievably long ignore list.
