Sacrificed Parts by Old Transformer

Lol at the fact that the old decepticon (turned autobot) gave up his life to donate his parts to optimus, but optimus just uses it to defeat the fallen, and just disposes the parts on the ground after. why didn't he keep them? it made him so much stronger!

Optimus does keep it-- he uses them again during the final battle of DOTM.

One section of the jet gets sawn off, during the fight with the fallen and the other piece just kind of falls off.

I agree with you, but realistically with the extra stuff "bolted on" Optimus looked really unwieldy - and he prolly would have had trouble transforming with it. Makes sense to shed the parts and only keep them available for when they're needed (maybe in his trailer?)
