This film has more wholes than swiss cheese, is way too long but............
The scene of optimus fighting decepticons in the forest is AMAZING, as well as his introduction fight into the movie. Bay can do great CGI for sure if he wants to.

I agree with you to a certain extent. When it first came out I liked it as much as (or more than) the 1st movie; but it doesn't really hold up as well over the years. The humor seems a bit forced and the ice-cream-truck twin ghetto robots are just about unbearable.
Favorite things about this film:
o John Turturro
o Ramon Rodriguez - oddly enough - (Sam's roomie) I liked him more after the passage of time and rewatching; he does a creditable acting job here and plays well off JT.
o Megan Fox's headlights ;-)
o The CGI robots, of course
For me, Sam and Mikaela's characters are dispensable to the overall Transformers story; they can be replaced without too much effort. They should really bring back Simmons at a minimum though.
definitely agree with you about torturro. totally agree with you about sam and michaela. shia became straight unbearable with the shouting but the screaming when he finds out the girl is a robot was priceless.

About the only thing that could be done is to remove that moron mother (in fact, I DID - I have edited my bluray so that everyscene with her in it is GONE (except the ones where she's in the desert battle scenes, they're too involved to edit her out)).
