Despite the fact that space command would have detected the incoming objects anyways unless they had some form of radar jamming that could block even the jamming signal what was the point of watching the CGI carrier sink? For the same of CGI? They even mention NORAD detected them so how come no one did anything baout them as they were incoming? DId Michael Bay just wanna do some wannabe tear jerking with the sinking of a modern aircraft carrier? I was really hoping someone would have copied the carrier and become a transformer personally...

They were probably scrambling as they heard incoming but they didn't have much of a chance to retaliate.

what was the point of watching the CGI carrier sink? For the sa[k]e of CGI?

The whole movie is for the sake of seeing things happen with CGI that we wouldn't normally see. Did you not catch on to that before? The movie is several years old.

caught it before but decided to get others opinions on that whole scene. I remember in the theater hoping one aircraft carrier would transform into an autobot but nope ruined that.
