'The best gag in the film is the opening title card...'

Came across this in a review on Rotten Tomatoes.

What's the gag? Just curious.

reply

Anyone? I don't plan on seeing the the movie any time soon, so you could help me out by revealing the best gag in the entire movie.

reply

It says something like: This is a true story. Only the facts have been changed.

reply

I am amazed that, in this day and age, that birders are on the "honor system" for tallying how many they have seen.

reply

There is no official contest, no title, no trophy. It's just a few birders a year independently try to see as many birds as they can. It's something people do for their own amusement - cheating doesn't win them anything.

reply

That begs the question of "defending" the title, which was the premise of the film.

Thank you sienel.

It's almost an existential line.. Not exactly funny ha-ha.

I hope that is not actually the funniest moment. That would be sad.

But at least the film seems to have prompted ruminations on the honor system and the meaning of life.

I had to think a minute about your board name. Mr. Collins. Made me smile.
