shareIf they're doing a sequel, they could do an intercontinental big year. Try reading the book, "The Biggest Twitch." A couple goes out to set a new record for the most birds seen across the world in one year. 732 would only be a start if you add Africa, Asia, Australia, and South America birds in.
"Six trips? Sounds to me like somebody doing a Big Year."
"Maybe I just love to watch birds."
Actually, a local competition would make a better film. An international competition will be won by whoever can spend the most money, but a one-day competition means the competitors are racing the clock, and not their creditors.
In a one-day competition you get the built-in suspense of the ticking clock, plus the rivals are much closer to each other, allowing for direct conflict. And if it's a team contest, there can be relationship drama within teams, such as a couple resolving their differences at the end.
Pity there won't be a sequel, "The Big Year" didn't make big bucks.
If we're going to die, let's die looking like a Peruvian folk band!
They could easily do a sequel based on the three characters (4 counting Ellie) who team up to do the World Series of Birding in NJ. They could have a foriegn based team come in to embarrass the usual winners so Bostic rises to the challenge and enlists his former rivals to team up to show who's the best.
