This film was decent in all departments and was wrapped up in a nice little bow with a good message...
5.9 is rediculous, I must admit I let the IMDB score set the benchmark for most things I watch...(Which I have heard many times is dumb anyway)..But never again will I let that silly rating prevent me from seeing some good little films like this one.
I agree. Just watched it and liked everything about it. I'm not even into birds; into nature, just not extreme birding. Very poignant little film about life and doing what you want to do.
You guys just need to understand the rating system on here a little better. None of the movies get a 10/10 rating if it's been seen by 100+ people (some cheeky film companies rate a movie early to gain awareness). A 9 or above is held in regard for a select few movies. It's barely worth considering ratings above a 9 due to the rarity so it's really only between 1 and 9 stars.
4 or less: don't waste your time.
A 5 can be good but it's often an acquired taste (such as spoof comedy etc.) which is why it has such mixed opinions.
A 6 is actually considered a good movie. Not brilliant but definitely something you'd watch again somewhere down the road. If you're thinking in terms of 9 stars, a 6 is 2/3 positive...whereas you might have been thinking it was more like only a 1/2.
A 7-8 is generally a great movie. Okay, some 7's may really be 6's but it all depends on genre.
An 8-9 is considered to be excellent. Not many movies keep this position, even if they start out that way.
To sum up, this movie really doesn't deserve a higher rating. It is fairly ranked at around 6 stars.
crap like the transformers sequels or adam sandler movies score higher than this, that is why people are saying <6 is too low. this film should be higher.
