A Elvish Harry Potter
This is the second time I've seen a fantasy series where the majority of characters within a fantasy world are of the same species. Harry Potter is mostly wizards and witches and this one is mostly Elves, except that both these series differentiate those magical beings from all the older incarnations in how they make them more human and less fanciful. The wizards and witches of Rowling's world were all easily blended in with human society and lived more like regular people only they could use wands, teleport, and go places invisible to the non-magical. The same is here with all the elves in this world and they're more recognizable as humans and less like these godly creatures with ghostly voices and mystical energy. Tolkien's world made the wizards and elves more distinct from the human race by keeping the wizards aged, patriarchal, and wise and the elves stern, elegant, ageless, and ethereal in body and voice. This has now become a trend for fantasy where the traditional magical beings are not really magical beings at all and are just everyday mortals with less superhuman abilities.
