Don't marry Angelica! You'll be brown bread!

Someone please warn potential hubby no.3, he's gonna get jolly hideously shot or slaughtered to death!Just like hubbies 1 and 2!

reply

That's why she has to marry Sexby. He'd survive everything. At least I hope so.

reply

LOL, poor Saxby.. chosen third and probably gonna die too.

reply

Oh I think this women is real jinx for every man she is or will be with LOL. And that's why Sexby must be her man seeing that Cromwell imprisoned him in the Tower and high fever caused his death on January 13 1658.
The history for the last episode I think.

reply

I was sad when #2 died. But I'm sure all future hubbies/lovers are cursed. It's actually pretty bad writing to have the story telegraphed this far in advance. I hope sincerely that the plot doesn't go where I think it will.

They might not kill off Sexby as this drama is about as historically accurate as a loaf of bread. I mean there's a few little snippets thrown in here and there, but generally its not very accurate at all. Mind you the drama itself is really good, just don't expect it to be historically enlightening. ;O)

So here's hoping that Sexby of 'The Devil's Whore' does what Sexby of the real world didn't do - survive!! I want him to anyway as he and Rainsborough were my two favourite characters in this drama.

Course I keep hoping they kill Cromwell, but apparently no one's daring to stray THAT far from historical fact. LOL!

reply

Run, Sexby, run!

Seriously, I'm sure he will shuffle off this mortal coil, though whether he'll do it whilst rotting in jail is another matter. Doesn't seem suitably dramatic.

To davidwoodall

Yeah...right you are ...he shot himself after Kennedy got tipped off and did a detour round the book depository...okay, you KNOW what I meant!

Still, according to the programme, his son came into the world just as Cromwell died, so I suppose his ghost had the last laugh.

reply

Yes, being a woman I was getting bored of all the male heros being bumped off lol. Gosh all my posts on this board so far have just been about men. :S

I'm only just watching this having missed it first time round and have nothing better to do at this time of the night- not being back in work for another week! Anyhow yes the title of this thread made me smile - she does seem to be a bit of a jinx doesn't she! I'm very impressed with her character, I don't like as Rainsborough (the lovely Michael Fassbender) said women whose only function in life is to be privileged! I think it was something like that anyhow. In what I've seen her in (as Margaret Thatcher in The Long Walk to Finchley) Andrea Risbrough is a very good actress, she likes playing women with b...s I think!
