I know this series doesn't rank very high in the 'historical accuracy' department, but did the real Edward Sexby actually have an iron hand?

No. And a lot else is fanciful. But take it as fiction and it is very entertaining. What is true is that Cromwell was a bastard.

Actually, he was the legitimate son of Robert Cromwell.
