Spoof of a spoofed spoof

As much as I love TP's work, this one bombed. There was very little new. It was more or less a spoof of a spoofed spoof. With such famous actors I expected this movie to be the hit of the year. I could guess every reaction for I have seen them in other plays or movies he has done. I think he will need to go back to plays or get an assistant to help with movies. The spoofs made him famous but I am afraid it will began to fade for him if he does not create something new. The other show I just hated was "What's Done In The Dark." It had a beautiful story line but D'Atra's part as the nutty nurse was just too far out there. Tyler needs to slow down a bit and make sure he over see these plays and movies. Having said that, I am so very proud of Tyler and I pray he goes far in life, in love, in business. Love you TP

D'Atra's part made me so mad!!! It was not cute or funny.

***Spoiler***

And I was also mad that he combined Meet the Brown (the movie) with "What's Done In The Dark"!

I heart Chuck Morris

Once again, I wasn't impressed. Another "afterschool special" by Tyler Perry. Why waste time and money putting them in the theatres? They're barely good enough for cable. This is his worst one yet. I thought "Why Did I Get Married??" was bad.

The story was bad enough. A formerly promiscuous woman with four kids and three baby daddies meets her relatives who are all products of a pimp and his whores?? OK, well maybe there is a story there but Perry needs to learn how to make his stories more interesting. He spends too much time trying to preach the same things in almost all of his movies. We get it, Tyler. BLACK MEN!! PAY YOUR CHILD SUPPORT, SPEND TIME WITH YOUR KIDS, AVOID NEGATIVE ROLE MODELS AND RESPECT YOUR WOMAN. BLACK WOMEN!! STOP CHASING THUGS & BAD BOYS AND IGNORING THE GOOD BROTHAS AND STOP COLLECTING BABY DADDIES!!" How about making a movie next time instead of a PSA ?? Is this all we as black people have to say in movies??

Perry's characterizations are so broad. Sofia Vergara played a typical loud and aggressive Puerto Rican girl with only one or two emotions. She was just a cartoon. I can't believe Jenifer Lewis signed on to play such a buffoonish and stereotypcal part. Why does she always end up playing the same hateful jealous characters?? She has too much class for that though she was kind of funny. But what's up with David Mann character ??? That's some minstrel show style overacting for ya!! Nothing wrong with having a crazy character but why so over-the-top and ignorant? He was even butchering the ebonics. Wouldn't have been so embarrassing if he was at least funny rather than pathetic. Rick Fox needs to stick to basketball or get some acting lessons. A full set of teeth and some wavy curls aren't enough to prove you have acting talent.

Come on, Tyler. Make a real movie instead of trying to recreate the theater experience. They're two totally different things.

FYI they they will continue to turn the plays into movies because that's what the Lionsgate production company's contract was for. He agreed to turn so many of his plays into films, I'm thinking the number was 9? But don't hold me to that number cause its been years since that contract. I'm assuming that once that deal is over he can make whatever he wants. So if it seems redone its is because that's what the production company asked for.
I do agree the nurse could have been toned down a bit. I guess he was trying to make up for the main comedians we have grown used to, Madea and Brown, not being there. She was funny but at times she was a bit much and which made her not pull off a Mabel or Brown effect.

Thanks for the information. I, as well as millions of viewers wish only continued success for a man who made it happen and has the funds to prove it. I am sure he enjoy feed back and that can only help him in the future. Be blessed and again thank you!
