Angela Bassett was referred to several times as a 'young' single mother. She was 50 years old when this movie was made. If anything she was too 'old' to have a child still in daycare.

shareI watched the movie today and although I love Angela Bassett I really think that the movie would have benefitted from a younger actress playing the mother. Not even just the fact that Angela's age alone made her too old to play the part (cause face it - the woman is beautiful!) but I feel she was too confident to play the character.
I'm just shy that way
