I am trying to watch it ...

keep feeling asleep no matter how hard I try to stay awake or how much coffee I drink.

The Dune world had me captivated as a reader when I was a kind in the 70's, but it's ridiculous, not even science fiction, just a pure yawning fantasy

reply

lol. in the 70's? just how old are you?

yep this is quite a bad show. love how they try to make it look like game of thrones with british people all over and lame sex scenes. they clearly dont know what the dune universe is about, those are just dumb executives trying to cash in on everything. it would probably be cancelled after one season because nobody cares about it.

i may have to dissagree with you on the dune books being good. only the first and the second books are good. from the third onward it became a chore to read and its not very interesting.

reply

I couldn't even finish the first book and have no desire to get back to it.

Signed, million man.

reply

i couldent finish the second games of thrones books either. everyone are calling it a masterpiece but i hate it. i actually do like the first dune book. its an interesting and contained story on its own. its the second book and what comes after that start being wierd.

reply

Yes, this show is trying so hard to be Game of Thrones the first four scenes all packed into one. GOT knew how to pace itself, develop characters slowly. This show just jumps and skips from scene to scene, then give characters these long silent close ups that mean absolutely nothing to the viewer.

reply

I keep falling asleep too! There are these incredibly boring scenes laughingly set to this loud, melodramatic music. It’s just silly. The actor who plays Desmond is terrible. What a weak, whispering villain.
