Dune Wokehecy
Of course HBO had to make this feminist nonsense
shareits funny because in the 60's when pepole read the first dune book that was about the same female order, nobody said "woke" "gir bossess" "feminist" why? because nobody knew or cared about those terms, this is 2010's nonsense. even back in the 2000's nobody raged at strong female characters. this is something compleatly new
shareNobody complained back then because there was no malevolent agenda. These days there is, at least from the west.
Japan, China, and Korea make stuff with female protagonists all the time and nobody complains, well, except for leftist weirdos who are afraid of beautiful women.
there isnt an agenda concerning worman at least. you are confused, the agenda is about race + LGBTQ , not woman.
woman in prominent roles is something that always existed.
woman in prominent roles is something that always existed.
whatever this is you think about its not relevent to the dune franchise where the sisterhood always been strong and dominant and this series is just about that. its not "woke" in the slighest, just a prequal that focus on the bene gesserit.
shareI'm not the one who's calling the show woke, OP is. However, he's not wrong in suspecting any current western work starring women, since Hollywood has ruined its reputation so badly with its bad faith and radical agendas. It'll be years, if not decades, for people to trust them again.
shareWhether it's 'woke' or not, I have zero interest in watching it for the sole reason it's another SHAMELESS CASH-IN to make a TV show out of a recently popular movie.
Like the Rings of Power and the 5 or 6 Star Wars TV shows.
Of course they're going to put a bunch of woke crap in it. It's Hollywood, over-produced garbage. If they're not busy making it woke, they'll probably put a giant metal spider in the show. Hollywood at this point is more similar to PT Barnum's Circus than the movie studio capital.
If it's about the order that Paul's mom was a part, it would make sense it was about the ladies who are in it. That's been part of the story since it was created. No complaints here on that.
As for another IP being exploited? Yeah, I would think this falls into that category. The movies are already overlong. So adding content isn't really something I'd want to invest my time with.
