question about the dancing
I know that the dancing is not the main point of the movie... but Jennifer was into dancing, and he put time into dancing, and they bet that they would score a 5/10 in dancing (when the professionals scored about a 7/10). So, in theory they should have been halfway-decent dancers; not great dancers and not professionals, but decent dancers. And sure they botched the jump part; things happen. But the way they shot the dance scenes was always very choppy. We never got to see any extended dancing scenes. I don't know diddly about dancing, but the only conclusion I can draw is that the actors could not put together 2 minutes of decent dancing; hence the choppy scenes. I would have guessed that they could have invested the time to put together 2 minutes of decent dancing. Some actors have invested hours studying e.g. martial arts to perform a scene, or practicing a foreign accent, or even losing 40 pounds to play a part. Is it just me, or did they seem to take an easy out on the dancing scenes? (And again -- let's not forget that the dancing took on some import to the plot of the movie. It was important to her; everybody came to the dance, including the wife; a big bet was on the dancing; there was a whole scene where his buddy helped them with some dance moves; the dance practice conflicted with the Eagles game. So it's not as if dancing was entirely trivial to the movie...)
