No second series
Received an email today from Touchpaper TV, the production company for City Of Vice. Apparently Channel 4 has decided against a second series.

shareI am actually really upset that there will be no second series. I really, really enjoied the first (and only) series. The time period itself is incredebly interesting and rich with such great factual material to base storylines on. I was really looking forward to a new series, it is such a shame that they are not going ahead with it.....
shareThis is a real shame. I've finally watched the entire series on DVD, and I find it ironic that in the last episode a politician tells the Fieldings that their Police Force has funding for another year. A shame this didn't happen for the show. A really great series.
shareAgree with WonderfulGal, this period is so fertile for interesting story lines and drama, and this show was a perfect vechile for exploring it. I thought this show was pretty decent but it had potential to be a whole lot better. It could have been the Rome of its era. A real waste.
shareBah Humbug, I am very unhappy.
shareDose not surprise me...it was too intelligent, and you could not use the latest to 40 music as a soundtrack, and let us not forget...no ad placements for junk-food products either. LOL
shareWell-said, Nevis-1! City of Vice was one of the few recent British series to engage my attention. I grew up during the golden age of British drama, so I'm bitterly disappointed by the crap they've been cranking out lately, which seems aimed at a bunch of teens or morons.
Put puppy mills out of business: never buy dogs from pet shops!
Damn channel 4 they have shown themselves to be nothing more than swiving buggerantos!
