With the following that the 2003 series had with older audiences and the popularity of the 2013 series with younger children, a theatrical film would have been a new Suicide Squad at the box office.

This way is cheaper especially considering they are not going to real network.

So what? The Dark Knight was PG13 and that was more mature than some R rated movies released at the same time.
