Huge BOMB for Lionsgate. 70 mill budget, 8 mill first weekend earnings
Why the hell did Lionsgate produce this junk?
shareWhy the hell did Lionsgate produce this junk?
sharewell, Lionsgate is known for churning out garbage that makes no money. Do you really have respect for Lionsgate? It's one of the worst studios in Hollywood.

It's funny though, because those Twilight films really are awful movies; i mean i have tried to watch them and I just can't sit through such horribly written/acted/directed garbage. "Legend of Hercules" is worlds better than those movies, and it won't make any of the profits that those movies made. i just don't get it. It seems unfair.

Lionsgate didn't actually produce this. They just picked it up for distribution. Millenium Films was the producer and they're the ones who are out $70 million. Not that it matters...
shareMillennium founder Avi Lerner is shoddy and a thief. There is no way it cost that much. He always claims budgets are more just to brag when in reality whatever money they do have there is a great portion pocketed by producers. Millennium wouldn't be in business if they actually had the losses it seems. Rarely do they have any film that does well at the box office
shareYes millenium has been very success lately. Expendables frabchise and olympus has fallen have provef to be very succesful. Millenium is an independent films company that is just getting into mainstream. Olympus has fallen beat the *beep* out of white house down, a huge budgeted blockbuster that failed miserably. A budget of 175 million abd made back 47 million. Olympus has fallen had a budget of 60 milliin and made over 200 million world wide. Now its getting a sequel next year. And the expendables franchise is a over 600 million franchise with two movies and the third looking to being a huge improvement from the other two.
shareIt's hardly a huge bomb. It grossed $22.2 million in only 19 days worldwide. It has yet to reach many foreign markets.
shareThe movie made over $30 million worldwide so far. It still has many countries to open in.
shareAgain, I'm wondering where you're getting these numbers. Box Office Mojo reports this as making $19.85 million after four weeks; there's no way this is going to turn a profit, even if the widely reported $70 million budget has been inflated.
shareBOM didn't update it's international numbers after the first weekend, if you count international numbers you will see it earned more than $30 million overall.
It still has big countries like UK, Germany, France, Mexico to open. And if it opens in Japan and China, surely the movie will end up with a profit.
$70 million!?
"A true archer doesn't even need a bow or an arrow."
It's reported budget is actually $35 million. The movie has so far grossed around $40 million worldwide and it still has some big countries to open. So a total of $70 million seems reachable at this point. Add in DVD/BluRay sales and this movie will make a nice little profit.
