Why not make it 'Rated R' in the first place

We all knew it would bomb at the box-office. So why not make it an R-rated movie.
This would have given the movie a chance to get a cult following on blu-ray.
I mean we had the movie "300", then we have its sequel. On TV we have series like "Spartacus - Blood and Sand", "Da Vinci's Demons" and "Game of Thrones".
This movie brings nothing new to the table, except that it misses all the stuff that makes the other movies/series good.

I agree. They should have put in more sex and violence and made it a hard R movie. The action in this movie is entirely bloolless.

I hope they do an unrated cut for blu ray and put in all the blood.

Would still have been a pile of $hit, only it would now be poop with a blood in it. Which, I'm told means you're sick.

Those things are not cult hits because they are r-rated, they are hits because they are GOOD, this with an R rating would stll suck.

That's what unrated directors cuts are for. This film might have one. i hope it does.

A few months later "300: Rise of an Empire" shows how a R-rated movie can be a boxoffice success. Now I wonder if "Hercules: The Thracian Wars" will rated R.

Ted was another example. That was Rated R and it made over 200 million dollars at the box office.
