The lead had 9 days to prepare

Well, it shows how much effort went into this film.

I see what your saying but, at the same time, the dude is pretty jacked. Doesn't exactly need to be much bigger in my opinion.

reply

Yeah. I know they cast him like 9-10 days before. But that's why it is impressive, that body is that dude's normal body! Just imagine if he had been cast 6 months before, the kinda shape he would have gotten in.

I think Lutz might be one of the very few guys who you could instantly cast in a superheroic role like this. Most actors would need months to make the transformation.

Woah! Hes jacked! Superstarz!

Seriously? The dude cant act and didn't have the look of Hercules.

reply

Not surprising he's ripped when you consider his dad is Lutz from 30 Rock.

Listen, little boys, (as I can only assume the two posts following mine were written by twelve-year-old boys) there is supposed to be a lot more to playing a classical role than if you happen to have a good body. You're supposed to be able to know your lines, to get to know your character's personality and nature. it seemed that nothing of the internal qualities of the character or even portraying him as more than an action figure in motion were even considered.

Vlad GET OUT OF MY HEAD!!!!!

Oh please, chill out; it is a freaking Hercules movie! He needed to get to know his character? Hahahaha; what is this supposed to be? Shakespeare? Were you also hoping to see Meryl Streep play his mother?

I'm seeing this as a modern SFX updated version of the old Sword and Sandal films. Plenty of them were not based on actual Hercules myths, and were filled with anachronisms.

I'm going into this with that attitude, too. Love me some Sword & Sandal flicks.

A real shame, as he said if he had half a year he could really grit up, put some more mass, even if only some muscle and mostly fat.
Shows how much the producers cared for this flick.
They guy seems nice, hard to hate him, the guy to hate is the director, *beep* that guy.

reply

LOL that's *beep* hilarious! I may go see this now

I'm not sure why you think I am 12(?) but I'm actually 24, for whatever that's worth...

AOL still exists ?

9 days!? i would hope that he at least read a few of the myths to prepare...

wait never mind, that would require him to be semi literate which, looking at his goon face, i highly doubt.

reply

Actually Lutz has a very handsome face, which goes fine with his impressive body. Calling that guy ugly is like calling YOU intelligent; it's just silly.

reply

The guy could have a bright future as Chris Hemsworth's stunt double. Other than that...

reply

what shocking to me hes saying he loved the stories of hercules as a child, was a big fan of the myth...how the hell did he then agreed on this?as a fan he should have run miles away from it
