Why is it that every year two movies of the same kind gets made?

Hercules with The Rock, and then, same year... The Legend of Hercules?

One is always complete *beep* the other is good. It happens with a few titles every year. Is this a Hollywood spy-game stealing each-other's ideas, trying to make a movie faster than the original maker? Etc...?

It always pisses me off.

But they are all decent movies. Not 1 total crap

reply

I disagree. Some of them are downright awful.Either way, that's beside the point isn't it? Weren't you simply asking for more examples of twin films released in the same year?

reply

Yeah one is always better than the other. My guess is the better film is the original, and the other is a pale imitation in an attempt to cash in on the idea.

Cardboard Box is the Future.

It's a "me too" copycat maneuver to Steal hype in Tinseltown... its a formula for the Lazy, in base human terms. It's easier to Imitate- than to Innovate. Once word gets out that a big movie is being made- nowadays a weak director can jump in, steal the idea, make a hurried 'sloppy copy', and put trust in the fact that audience members will get confused- or see the original movie first, like it, and equate the copy movie of similar name, as a continuation or something. Problem is, when you Hurry a movie, throw actors together and say-go, as we have to get this to market in 62 days... the focus on the scam and greed becomes evident in the lackluster attempt and everybody loses... this is a perfect example of a 'me too' throw-together to ride the momentum wave of Dwayne The Rock's Hercules... obviously they didn't fool too many people - and their agenda is quite transparent-
