Not enough Howlin' Wolf!!!

Man, I wish they'd devoted more time to that awesome singer and musician. In here he just looks like a gangster with a seductive growl. Although they did get it right when he turned down the Cadillac and the whole bullying business of the contracts. He was a real smart guy who actually got health insurance for his band members. Plus he was much better than Muddy Waters at the blues. The man wasn't Howlin' Wolf for nothing!

The Wolf needs a movie of his own.

I couldn't agree more. Wolf in infinitely more interesting than the other characters. He needs his own biopic like Ray.

reply

Absolutely! And not glossed over! An in depth film of one of the greatest bluesmen ever. A film about Wolf, indeed!!

reply

Totally agree. Wolf was the only one shown to have any real integrity & brains about the music biz. While this movie left me with a sour taste for some of the others, I really want to learn more about Wolf.

reply

I agree with you about the need for more Wolf in this movie. He might have came straight from the Delta in a beat up truck as depicted in the movie but he didn't fall for the flash of that Cadillac. When he said that he didn't borrow from the store and just to pay him what he's owed...I loved that. That's a big mistake made by musicians from the beginning of time. By the time the record company gets all the money back for studio time and other services...you are left owning them. It hurt me to see Muddy and the rest of them under the thumb of Leonard. Yes he helped them and gave them a chance but he took advantage of them at the same time and used them for all they were worth.

Taking advantage of, and stealing from Black Muisicians was
EXACTLY how it was done in the music business during that time!

Howling Wolf was an amazing, raw talent; with great respect for
his fellow musicians/band members.

"OOO...I'M GON' TELL MAMA!"

Ditto

I new of him, but being new to the blues I never heard his music. I listen to him daily now. What a amazing voice, and funky as well. Needs his own story told.

I like your show,I admire your style, but your pays so cheap, I won't be back for a while.

It is hard to imagine such talent ,such a force, such brilliance coming out of that hell hole that was the Delta. WOlf is arguably one of the greatest blues vocalist to have ever lived.

You may not bet on me but don't bet against me.
