Chuck Berry. How ironic.
Of all the great, legendary rock 'n roll hits he made, the only time he hit #1 was with "My Ding-A-Ling".

...and even that was a remake of a song called "Toy Bell" by Dave Bartholomew in 1952. The Bee's did a version in '54. I like Chuck, but he's a little overrated. All of his songs are the same. Not "they all sound the same", no they're all the same. Quick, what's the difference between 'School Days' and 'No Particular Place To Go'...'Little Queenie' & 'Run, Run Rudolph'. I've always been a bigger Little Richard fan. Now there would be a good theatrical movie (I like the TV version but they had to edit a lot of it).

He's invented that terribly catchy riff and used it in like every song he ever recorded. Mos Def is incredibly handsome as Chuck, by the way. Probably the best portrayal of a famous rock'n'roll person in years.

Agree, listen to Chuck Berry live in concert cd, it's like one long song. The melody is the same throughout. Elvis, the Beatles, and Johnny Rivers did better versions of Chuck's song than Chuck.
