People you'd consider for the remake

You don't HAVE to like the idea of this being made. But since it's going to happen anyway, who would you want to see in this?

+++Suzy Bannion (or is it Banyon?)
* Ellen Page. She looks almost EXACTLY like Jessica Harper, and she's a damn gr8 actress.
* Miriam McDonald. If you've seen her on Degrassi TNG as Emma Nelson, you know who she is. And I feel that this role would not only be a good choice for her, but she could use this role as a means of both branching out artistically AND exposing herself to new film roles in the near and immediate future.
* Asia Argento. Based solely on the fact that she is quite pretty and an incredible actress.
* Cassie Steele. You might recognize her as Manny Santos on Degrassi TNG, and if you do, you'll agree with me when I say that she is very cute with a girl-next-door quality. And aside from the looks, the same reasons as Miriam McDonald.

All these actresses can totally pass as a young women, age 19-26, of American persuasion (though Page, McDonald and Stelle are all Canadian).

+++Madame Blanc
* Dame Judi Dench. She's really one of the few good choices I can think of. IDK about Daria Nicolodi, since I've only seen her in Paganini Horror.

+++Miss Tanner
* Mary Woronov. She looks alot like Miss Tanner, aside from some minor details. Granted she doesn't have a German accent.

I've always seen it to be Banyon.

I can see Judi Dench as Madame Blanc. I can just hear her say "Vanish! She must vanish!"

I don't particularly like your choices for Suzy, though. Ellen seems to be the best choice in your list, but not exactly the best choice overall. Asia is pretty, but far too old to be a dance student. And her performance in Mother of Tears is hit and miss.
I'm happy with Natalie Portman as Suzy. She has a similar wide eyed Snow White look Dario saw in Jessica Harper. Natalie also already knows how to dance (not that the girls actual ballet was a huge part of the plot).

if they are gonna remake this, they should try to do what dario originally intended-use children instead of teenagers. in my opinion, given that they follow the same spirit of the original, it "might" be good.

reply

Yes! Having children in the lead roles is the only possible thing that could work in the remake. Althought I consider the original Suspiria one of the single perfect movies of all time, it would´ve been even better if it had children instead of late teenagers/young adults;

Guillermo Del Toro should direct

I would consider Emma Watson or Ellen Page for Suzy. Dench for Madame Blanc, certainly.

No one, those "geniuses" @ hollywood should load a pistol and stick in their mouths *bang* ... *beep* 'em all. Useless *beep*

If I had to pick out a person to play the main character "Suzy Bannion or Banyon", I would pick out Scout Taylor-Compton (Laurie Strode on Rob Zombie's Halloween and Halloween II).
