Natalie Portman is NOT starring in the remake... David Gordon Green has stated that he wants to cast unknowns in the movie and keep it as far from Hollywood as possible. He went on to say that it's going to remain quite faithful to the original, but with his own slight twist on things... for example, it's not going to be set at a dance school, but at an all-girls boarding school.

DGG also said that he has acquired the rights to the Goblin score and fully intends to use it in the remake... so that's good news!

I wish Jessica Harper would get a pivotal role in the remake of Suspiria, like Joan Bennett's role or the equivalent of that role. I think it would be a great nod to the original film and I believe she would be fantastic too.

It should remain a dance school. The scene with Suzy on pointe is a creepy image. An all girls school would be too close to The Woods.

I think the dance element was removed due to the success of Black Swan. That Natalie Portman starred in Black Swan was apparently the main reason why she isn't attached to this movie anymore.
