I saw George Washington a while back and although it was okay, it seemed like a kid who was trying to copy the director Terrence Malick. Then he did Undertow which wasn't great. And his record continues to plummet with Your Highness and The Sitter. WTF??
I'm guessing most reputable directors realized a remake of Suspira was a dumb idea and passed. That left a few desperate souls like this guy, it seems.

I hated Pineapple Express and Your Highness but was quite surprised by The Sitter.
However I can't think of a more random director to remake Suspiria, but I've heard his early work is quite good.

The original director's daughter (Asia Argento) is an actress & director. Never seen any of her work, but that would've been an interesting choice nonetheless.
Otherwise, it would've been cool to have a renegade director like David Lynch take the helm and see what kind of madness he'd come up with.

You didn't mention "Snow Angels" which was a very good drama, and "Pineapple Express" which was a very good comedy. The guy can make good films, it's just he can also make crappy ones. [givuep]
