I agree. The music made this movie for me. Same with Cannibal Holocaust. I'm pretty biased enough to think Animal Collective could pull off a similar polarizing score. If you've seen Oddsac, then you know what I mean. That's just me though.
I would lobby intensely for the Mike Patton project Fantomas to do the soundtrack.

David Gordon Green has acquired the rights to use the music of the original movie, so my guess is that this remake's score will include remixes of the old score. However, I kind of shudder at the thought of that job being in the hands of Steve Jablonsky, who is currently credited as the composer for this remake.
shareI always thought in the instance of a remake, it would be interesting to use the themes/score by Goblin and have them reinterpreted by Dead Can Dance, Diamanda Galas and the Kronos Quartet.
I wonder if some of the musical themes will be incorporated into the new score or if it's scrapped completely.
