Pretty much any Wes Anderson film. I love them all but if you want something with a serious undertone, I'd say the Darjeeling LTD was a great film that has both drama and comedy.

And a John Sayles film called Wild Fish or something like that. Something had to do with fishes in the title.
Also Everybody's Fine. I can't speak for the American remake with De Niro, but the original Italian version with Marcello Mastroianni was pretty damn good.
Sideways, from the same director of The Descendants, is an all time favourite of mine.
