Calling it "mental and drug issues" sure is a way to sugarcoat it.

This had little to do with mental and drug issues and more to do with the utter hell hole these people lived in. The hell hole they lived in lead to the mental issues which led to the drug issues. Never EVER do we EVER want to take responsibility as a society for our system and it is all about blaming the individuals, the victims of our failed system. Yet each and every one of you KNOWS it could very well happen to you. You're one catastrophic car accident away from it.

Notice the blissful scenes were shown in some beautiful location around the Mediterranean? Those places exist IRL so why is our place nothing but concrete, asphalt, slums and overpasses filled with homeless and trash everywhere the eye can see? Even the countryside is strewn with run down and abandoned buildings, rusting machinery, meth addicts, extreme poverty, homeless families filling up exorbitant priced hotels, signs and signs and billboards everywhere. So much as cross into Canada and the countryside there is clean and pristine with little signs saying "campground this way, apiary 4km down the road, winery at the next turn".
