Time to tell it all?

At the end of the episode on Feb. 25, 2022, Harper and Savannah, in the year 2020, find evidence that Griffen went to 2024 to find Sam Tremont, and that the crystal in the time machine radio was cracked in half. They worried that the time machine was broken and Griffin & Sam would be stuck in 2024 and Savannah would be stuck in stuck in 2020. Savannah entered the corridor leading to the manhole, and looked looked frightened when she heard adult Ben Campbell's voice.

And for some time I have been getting more and more annoyed with Griffin and Harper for not telling their parents about the time machine and everything. They should be able to guess that Ben and Jess were upset by Savannah's disappearance, they might even be aware that Ben and Jess feel guilty about what might have happened to Savannah, or that they might suspect each other of being responsible for Savannah's disappearance - as Griffen and Harper suspected at times.

And of course in movies and tv shows kids seem to have a universal desire to keep everything important from their parents and other adults. And that might be quite common in real life, too. I don't remember telling my a parents about the 2 times I was almost run over by trucks while walking to school, for example

I'm sure that many, many children and teenagers have faced important problems and made important decisions when they did not have any access to any adults who could give them better advice or any help with their problems, when doing it alone was the best course for the kids.

But I suspect that such times were a small minority compared to times when kids had access to at least some adults - out of the many they knew - who could have given them better advice or even assistance.

Certainly Griffin and Harper could hope that Ben and Jess might give them good advice about time travel paradoxes and such,or maybe contact theoretical physicists. And I have been getting more and more afraid that they will never tell their paranets that Savannah is (at least in a time travel sense of is) alive and well, that they will never care enough about their parents' feelings to do so.

So the thought occurred to me that the next episode might involve Harper telling Ben the truth. She might begin by saying she has good news and bad news, good news first.

She might aske Ben about the disappearance of Savannah and how that affected Ben. She might get Ben to say he feels very sad knowing that Savannah probably died, and feels like a bad friend for not have been there when she needed him.

And then she could say that she and Griffin investigated Savannah's disappearance and know that nothing bad happened to her. And Ben might say that Harper was lying, that if Savannah was alive and knew how many people searched for her, and how much Ben and Jess and other people sufferend, she would tell everyone she was alright.

And then if Savannah was right outside the door, and heard (though she might have aleady tried to exit the manhole, with who kowns what results), she might come in and apolgize to Ben for letting him worry all those years. And after some more explaining about the good news, they could tell Ben the bad news and ask fo rhis help in figuring a way out.

And of course, I also think that the world deserves to know that time travel, with all its wonders and dangers, is possible, and keeping it secret is sort of like treason against humanity.
