Your own high school life vs. later in life

Feel up to sharing your experiences and/or observations?

I was the school nerd. I got picked on, singled out, left out, beaten up, you name it basically all through junior high and high school. I was one of the smartest kids in school, and also one of the most talented musicians and singers, and I was decent at sports - never a starter but I played. So naturally I was in that camp that felt "You just wait high school bullies and stuck up girls - ten years from now I'll be leaving you in the dust!"

My life started when I got to college. I was in rock bands, president of the math club (ever heard of THAT combination?), student government, played intramural sports, honor society, was a math teacher (graduate teaching assistant), that's about it. LOVED it. Didn't do a lot of dating though, but certainly not for lack of trying! I think I literally had 2 girls say "yes" when I asked for dates, and believe me, there were dozens who said no! But I had plenty of friends and never really got picked on or ostracized.

For the first few years after I graduated college, the dating floodgates just opened. Basically everyone I asked out said yes. No true "hotties" in that span, most around a 6 or 7 on a scale of 1 to 10 on the hotness scale, but I was having so much sex I felt like Brian Benben from Dream On :).

About 5 years after graduating college I had the first 10 of my life say "yes" when I asked her for a date. That was 10 years ago. We're now married and have a beautiful daughter. A couple years after meeting my wife I started making a hell of a lot of money.

I couldn't be happier, so I guess I'm a real-life Denis :).

You know what's funny is sometimes they say, "Oh, that hot girl is going to end up pregnant in 10 years." Let me tell you, NO parent has a "boring" life. Kids and family keep you very, very, very busy and can be a source of joy like you never even imagined.
