What went wrong
The movie could of been better. The acting & directing is over the top. The man who directed Napeleon Dynamite wouldof been a better choice.
The book is actually pretty good. And you would think Chris Columbus would've done a better job. I think the biggest thing is the guy who played Denis. He looked way too old and creepy. The movie was trying to be a John Hughes movie, but it comes off very cheap looking and the comedy is played too over the top. The movie needed to be more subtle and it would've played better.
