No, Jack Carpenter is not gay. He is just a phenominal actor who was handed a decent script by his agent, which was then turned into a flop with the help of the director Chris Columbus.

His character wasn't gay either. A guy who *beep* 2 girls at once and no guys is not gay. He just said he was to please his *beep* best friend because his *beep* best friend liked to predict things and hated being wrong.
