i just saw the movie.. it was very well made.. i just dint get a few things..
why & how did bob had an envelope/dept that clarified that "lenny" was the big rat?
why did "cookie" gave the painting to "one two"? he looked pretty greedy to buy the painting, i assume he knew that it was important/precious in some way..
how did "roman" & "mickey" find "johnny quid"?
& please tell me if there is an update abt d sequel.. "The Real RocknRolla"
The info in the envelope was what Handsome got from Stella's gay husband. Remember they set that meeting up, quid pro quo? I wondered the same thing about Cookie, but figured one two bought it off him for Stella.
Thats correct. Bob got it from Stellas gay husband. Remember they were talking at the party, then agreed to meet for drinks. The husband called Bob to re-schedual the drinks, but said he left the folder with his secretary. We see Bob leaving that office with the folder right before they call One Two, after his and Stella's sex scene.
We dont see it, but im almost positive that One Two tells The Wild Bunch about Stella. She is hot. But mostly when Stella and One Two meet, its always in a art gallery save the one time in the resturant. Cookie got the painting and either the painting itself or what the picture of the painting was made cookie decide to buy it for One Two. He left the note saying "I know how much your lady likes art" I think it said.
Remember Roman and Mickey left there number with Cookie? "If the dead feels like calling, you'll be the first to know". When Mickey and Roman went to Quid's house, he heard they was in trouble. Quid and Cookie knew eachother so maybe they still talk every now and again. Cookie said Jhonny has to search far and wide for his "gear", so maybe Jhonny called him looking for some and Cookie told him about Mickey and Roman.
Havent heard any news yet besides what we all seen at the end of Rocknrolla.
Turkish: You take sugar? Brick Top: No thank you, Turkish; I'm sweet enough..
your'e right on almost all points described, however, we do see the reason why Cookie gave One Two the painting.
Cookie was invited (by One Two) to Stella's house party to sells his drugs to the party goers. at one point in the party, he says to One Two "I owe you one". while at the home, he had ample time to examine the art all over her walls. when he saw the painting later, he saw an opportunity to pay One Two back.
also, and i hate to correct, but Cookie's involvement between Roman, Mickey, and Johnny was a red herring, used to give us a slice of who Cookie is. Roman asks Johnny when he walked in the room "why'd you call us john?" he did it because he lost the painting, which he was torn on what to do with, and found it to be the most appropriate time to come out of hiding. and, more importantly, for the sake of telling Archy that Lenny was the rat.
IDK.. My theory about the whole "Jhonny called Roman and Mickey" thing came from the fact that when Roman asked "Why did you call us Jhon?" Quid said "I heard you boys were in some trouble" or something like that. If he heard they was in touble and he knew why (because of the painting he stole and they were ex-managers) why not help them out. I understand what your saying about a red-herring, but Cookie was their only contact to Jhonny, thats why they went to see him. So when they left their number, Jhonny called them. Because THEY were the ones in trouble. Why would Jhonny care about losing the painting?? Hes a junkie.. And im sure doesnt care what his father thinks of him stealing it. Plus Jhonny was high when Roman and Mickey came to see him. Cookie is a dealer.. So I think my theory makes more sence.. No offense.. Hate to correct.. :)

Quid said "I heard you boys were in some trouble" or something like that. I understand what your saying about a red-herring, but Cookie was their only contact to Jhonny, thats why they went to see him. So when they left their number, Jhonny called them. Because THEY were the ones in trouble. -Cookie wasn't their only connection to Johnny. He was just a connection.
Why would Jhonny care about losing the painting?? Hes a junkie.. And im sure doesnt care what his father thinks of him stealing it. -When he lost the painting he saw that as a sign. He loved the painting, and when he lost it he decided he'd been dead for long enough. He yearned for life.
Plus Jhonny was high when Roman and Mickey came to see him. Cookie is a dealer.. So I think my theory makes more sence.. - A dealer who doesn't sell to Johnny, as he stated earlier in the film. So it doesn't make a lot of sense that he'd sell to him later.
Im gonna have to agree with tbgpurples theory on this one, these are all great points
But fact of the matter is, johnny had decided it was long enough for him to be hiding, the painting culinated that, and most importantly, yes, he wanted to finally tell the underowlrd his dad was the big snitch once and for all

I'm just wondering why Bob gave the envelope to Archie. Is he trying to frame the informer? -- I am sick and tired of "the book is ten times better than the movie". Just shut up please.
Bob gave Archie the envelope because the papers in it had the info on who the informer was -- Lenny Cole aka Sidney Shaw. Remember, Sidney was the one who sent Archie up for four years, along with everyone else. Bob figured giving the info to Archie would save him & One Two & Mumbles...because Lenny was getting ready to do a dip-in-the-Thames treatment for all of them for taking the Russian's money (money Lenny needed to grease the planners & whatnot at city hall for the Russian's project.) Bob knew once Archie saw that Lenny=Sidney, Archie would want to kill Lenny for sending him to jail for four years. I just watched this flick again...it's friggin great.
Bob opened the envelope and himself and Mumbles read it. That's why Bob told Archie about the envelope, because he knew what would happen to Lenny once he told Archie. He'd kill him.
they have this enveloppe about an informer who sent everyone to jail, they read it and they go "who the hell is syndey shaw?"
NOW, at the big reunion/meeting/gettoggether whatever, Johnny Quid is going off on some information that he knows, egging lenny on, and speaking so that everyone can hear him, hinting at something lenny is hiding : bob puts 2 and 2 together, and realizes instantly lenny must be this "sidney shaw" guy, right then and there and asks archy to come get the enveloppe from him, knowing full well what would happen
"Who is This under my Knife!" - Bill "The Butcher" Cutting
Sorry just read this, lol. The reason he thought to give the Dept was because Johnny said just before he got shot that Lenny was the grass that put Archie behind bars. So Bob probably thought the paperwork might help their situation showing Archie some proof which it did :P
