Excellent Episode 8 (Spoilers)

The "twist" was great. All the song and dance numbers were on Fleek. The work place/ relationship drama was good.

The only downer is once again the (now dying) dad. It kind drags down the light hearted comedic feel of the rest of the show

I think I've mentioned it before but, so many of the musicals out there are about downer topics. I think that the show wouldn't have any staying power if it were all fluff.

They can keep the office politics, office romance and even the bl. dudes dead dad for the drama, but Creepy Face Dying Dad has got to go. I say that even though I enjoy the gallows humor of his nursing assistant.

Well now that they've closed off the S1 downer topic, maybe I will get the straight comedy that I want in Season2.

If it's just comedy then it will get boring really quickly. I think that's one of the reasons that The Good Place was so successful. It was about some really deep topics.
