I really, REALLY hate when...

So this movie was good. In fact, really good. The creature is creative, interesting and truly scary, the acting was great, so was the story, and the characters were surprisingly likable.

But please, PLEASE, could we just forget this *beep* stupid shaky cam thing forever? It's really annoying and doesn't make the film seem any more realistic. The only thing it accomplishes is make the viewer not see what the hell is going on. When I see a movie I prefer to be able to SEE the action.

The sound was also pretty bad, but that may be the DVD's fault. Or maybe not. But the dialogue was too silent while the sound effects were too loud. I had to turn on the subtitles to hear what they are saying, and once again, it's not fun.

It really annoys me because these 2 major (but really easy to avoid) flaws sort of hindered an otherwise great horror movie experience.

I think this movie is horrible in every way, only the creature was cool

I enjoyed the movie as well, and the shaky camera was my major complaint.

Yes, shaky cam should not exist. I hate it as much as anyone who likes decent cinematography. In fact, I created the Anti-Shaky Cam Army.
However, this movie is not great by any means, the acting sucked, and the characters are far from being likeable.
You couldn't tell what the hell was going on - but shaky cam was only one of the several flaws of Splinter.

Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)
