When they found out that the creature couldn't track them in the cold, it reminded me of the old THE BLOB movies.

Tons of little movie refrences.

The 1 handed shot gun reload came from Terminator 2.

The locked in a house searching for keys was a nod to Night of the Living Dead.

The arm amputation was just like The Ruins, although i'm not sure which of those movies came out first, so its more likely a coincidence.

Good stuff all over though.

I thought the little hand-creatures reminded me of Thing from the Addams Family movies, even though Thing never creeped me out as much as this movie did...

Yeah, it sort of reminded me of the facehugger as well. But I also couldn't help but to think of Ash's possessed hand from Evil Dead 2.

Among these things already mentioned, when the spikes came out of the thing, it reminded me of some of those demonic creatures in the Hellraiser movies.

The hand reminded me of the re-animated hand in Re-Animator (1985).

I was reminded of the scene in Carpenter's THE THING, when a human head turned into a "spider" and started walking across the floor, and Palmer (David Clennon) delivered the most apropriate line ever spoken in a horror film: "You gotta be fu**ing kidding!" xD

OMG I can't believe I didn't notice that!

"Sure - I just like TV better."
