Apparently the camera guys had Parkinson's, or the director thought it "really cool" to have them shake the cameras to the point where it was impossible to tell what's going on.
I think the shaky cam was more to mask the low budget creature fx, than it was to be "really cool". If you noticed, you never really got a good look at the monster (only brief glimpses), and the shaky cam effects only went haywire when it was attacking.
Absolutely agree - the retarded shaky cam, the dumb characters and the bad acting ruined an otherwise good movie. They made it look too amateurish for my taste.
Boycott movies that involve real animal violence! (and their directors too)
While i agree that camera shaking in this movie was quite abnormal, "Shaky camera" in itself is not a bad thing. In fact, only the best pros know how to use ir properly to get close and in motion shots.

the problem is not only the shaky cam, but the Quick Cuts they do. Not only is the camera shaking all over the place, but every scene with the creature has like 100 quick camera cuts. they cut every second or every half a second. I got sick and nauseous from trying to watch. I understand they had a small budget but if they cannot show the creature then why just.... i dont know, NOT SHOW THE CREATURE? Why can't they do it the JAWS way? if the effects don't look that good, then just... DON'T SHOW IT... leave it to the imagination you know? I was really curious about this movie but I dont think I can watch it.
Agreed. I realize I am replying to a post from 2010, but I just wanted to mention that I too thought the shaky cam and quick cuts were awful. Had a headache watching this terrible movie.
