Excellent ! It deserves the 'best of fest' award, for sure. I know that hundreds of movies are entered into the film festivals each year, but I think that this time, Fellowes' movie really shines from the rest - I loved it ! It certainly deserves many awards and I hope that it will be released soon, although 2010 is maybe looking more likely now. We'll just have to be patient I think. Fellowes is doing the right thing by having the film feature in festivals all over the world, so hopefully he'll get a distributor very very soon. At the London Q&A, he said that he had 2 distributors in talks with him, so hopefully they'll say 'yes' soon.

I do hope that this award will help the movie to find a distributor soon : many people are looking forward to seeing it. I admire Fellowes' work, I do love Maggie Smith and the whole cast is wonderful : it deserves to be successful !

I do think that the Chicago award is very good news for the film - really good that FTTT was singled out from the rest of the selection as being the best movie. I'm sure it'll get a distributor soon. And, I suppose we don't really know the full story: perhaps Fellowes is just looking for the best deal rather than not having ANY deal. Cross Fingers.

why the heck does a film with Maggie Smith, Timothy Spall and Carice van Houten not have a distribution deal yet? So weird.

Agree with you. I can't understand what happens... It should have been released now, it's really long !

The poster was released online a few days ago, so I think that's good for the film's publicity. I saw on the Internet that Fellowes' 'Young Victoria' isn't released in the USA until Dec. 18th, so I guess that he wants to promote that in the US, then get FTTT in the cinemas afterwards. FTTT has a great cast and even though it's a cast that is better known in the UK, there are many films that are released every year with unknown/lesser known actors, and they are still succesful. If the story is good and it's well-made and appealing, then I see no reason why it can't be a success.

Fellowes knows that FTTT has a Christmassy theme so he must get the film released in early 2010, so I'm sure that he's working hard on it. Besides, the movie won some awards recently, so it won't just disappear never to be seen.

Have faith in Mr Fellowes !!

I suppose that J. Fellowes does his best to have the movie released soon, but I can't understand why the distributors are hesitating with such a cast !!! It sounds like a lovely movie and we want to see it !!!!!
