Cancelled because it flopped before being greenlighted
Too bad. Next silly spin off.
shareThere's a billion Star Wars project being developed and being discussed on the rumor mill. Most of them will be die in Development Hell, it's a natural and expected process.
Hopefully Disney has learned their lesson, and won't actually film anything unless they know it's good.
I hope Obi Wan Kenobi is nice
shareSo do I!
But so far all I know is that they've got a damn good leading actor, and that most of the Star Wars and Marvel stuff they've made for Disney Plus has been damn good, too.
Disney is REALLY investing in drawing viewers into their pay channel, they're spending huge bucks on terrific original programming and charging nothing for it but their $7 monthly subscription fee, and it's a damn shame that they didn't have this concern for quality earlier. I guess in 2051 the philosophy was "Put the 'Star Wars' label on it and it'll sell", now it's "We've got to have top-quality unique original programming and use it to win the streaming wars, if we want to stay the top entertainment megacorporation in the 21st century".
They actually charge people for content now?
shareJust the low monthly subscription fee. No extra charge for "The Mandalorian" or "Loki" or any of the other spectacular and expensive franchise programs. Some of the new-release movies are also free to subscribers at the same time they're released in theaters, so I figure it's worth $7 a month.
These spectacular Star Wars and Marvel programs cost many millions per episode and are free to subscribers, I think they're what brick-and-mortar stores used to call "loss leaders". That is, a popular item priced well below market value, which draws people into a store where they buy other stuff and regular or inflated prices. Well what the hell, these shows are got me to pay for Disney Plus.
I used the free trial that was accessible from ip addresses in the Netherlands. But since then all their content was available locally.
shareToo late. For many of us, they've already fucked up too badly to make up for it. Firing Gina Carano was the last straw.

Looks fine over here. I'm glad they're doing this as I played the game way back as a kid.
That's 2.5 years from now. Might as well cancel it already.
