i was sceptical about a martyrs remake, but since scenic route is a nice little flick, this might turn out not bad at all.

Who's the audience for this? "Torture porn" as a genre in mainstream Hollywood is pretty much dead.
shareI would argue that Martyrs is so much more than standard torture porn. That said, a remake would most likely just be a cash grab.

No I def agree. I also dislike the term period. But I mean films with torture in general as a genre. Wolf Creek, Saw, Hostel, etc. They're not big anymore.
shareWelp. You were right to be skeptical. The remake actually changes up the original plot in several places, and not in any good ways. The only part I liked in the remake was showing more of Anna and Lucie's friendship as kids.
